It’s the story of a woman — Mériane Labrie — with a thirst for food innovation and a passion for human potential, who one day decided to truly believe in herself and make a difference in people’s long-term health… to help make the world a better place. A proudly Quebec-based company that’s leading the fight against added refined sugar and inspiring people to take better care of themselves — joyfully.
A trained advertising copywriter, I was a marathon runner who had just become a mom. I was always hungry—and I’d become profoundly aware of the importance of the food we put in our bodies. A lifelong sweet tooth, I wanted to find a way to create healthier, guilt-free treats. Armed with my wooden spoon and a deep sense of purpose, I launched madamelabriski.com: a destination free from added refined sugar.
Since refined sugar (which is everywhere!) wreaks havoc on our health, I wanted to help make a real difference in the way we eat. That’s how my food revolution began — to spark a new level of awareness and help build a healthier, more sustainable society… one that can still enjoy every bite.
My cookbooks — over 350,000 copies sold — have been translated into English and published in Europe. Some have even been recognized as the best in their category in Canada. I began giving talks on various topics across the country, while developing 32 no-added-refined-sugar, high-fibre food products now available in grocery stores and through my no-added-refined-sugar online store. As part of my mission to help society say “Goodbye refined sugar!”, I’ve received numerous awards for food innovation and entrepreneurship.
Through the challenges of this entrepreneurial adventure that completely transformed my life, I realized two powerful truths: 1. The inner strength we all possess and 2. The fact that we are what we eat — but also what we think, believe, and say.
Driven by the same energy that started it all, I felt the need to go one step further — to keep doing good, but on a deeper level. My gut instinct spoke to me again. I launched my first coaching program to help people say Goodbye to refined sugar, followed by my podcast “J’ai faim de joie”, to inspire more transparency, authenticity, and the courage to not just dream your life — but to make your life a great dream.
When we eat better, we feel better. And when we feel good, we become more in tune with our impulses, emotions, and true desires — for greater wellbeing and a better life.
As Madame Labriski prepares to expand her innovative food products internationally and enter the institutional market, she published “J’ai faim de joie” in February 2025 — a motivational and personal growth book about human potential and the strength within us all. The goal? To motivate people to take action.
I often jokingly say I must have been abducted by E.T. the Extraterrestrial — that’s probably where my endless energy and innovative ideas come from!
MY VISION: To improve society’s long-term health by reducing refined sugar consumption and offering tools to support better living and wellbeing.
MY MISSION: To make a meaningful difference in global health through two pillars: Eating better and feeling better in order to live better.

Why?
Because the time has come to bring about change is the world of nutrition. There’s simply too much refined sugar everywhere and in everything.
Dates are dried fruit with a neutral taste and they are packed with natural sugar. Unlike refined sugar, dates are very high in dietary fibre, and that’s why they can keep us going for long periods of time.
It’s so good, it’s almost magical.
Three cheers for date puree!
– sugar and + fibre
– processed foods and + happiness
