History

A wholesome chocolate sauce for dipping that’s as delicious as it is good for you? You bet! Containing NO ADDED REFINED SUGAR and no mega sweet chocolate, this sauce is finger-licking good… and you can eat it to your heart’s content. As well as being decadently scrumptious, it’s high in fibre… because it’s sweetened with date puree. What better way to fill your house with whoops of joy. Hahaha!

Can it hold a candle to the chocolate dips and even chocolate fondues of this world? The answer is yes. What’s more, it’s super healthy. Have I already mentioned that? Pure magic!

I guarantee this sauce will be love at first taste. Whether you make it with light cream or milk, and even if you do the VEGAN version using a plant-based beverage, the flavour will always be heavenly.

Perfect for dipping fruit or cookies or simply to relish by the spoonful. Let’s face it… we all do it ;-)

DON’T HAVE ANY CHOCOLATE DATE PUREE? Make it using regular date puree and just add an extra 1 or 2 spoonfuls of cocoa to taste. It’s as simple as that.

Will you succumb to temptation and be good to yourself?

WARNING! FOR ADULTS ONLY:

Try out the version with a drop of rum… mamma mia! It’s crazy how good it is.

Obviously, this healthy recipe is GLUTEN FREE and you can even make a VEGAN version.

FAQ

Madame Labriski, which dates do you use to make your puree?

I’ve been asked that question so many times that I decided to offer the actual dates used to make my date puree sold in grocery stores. How cool is that? Plus, these ones are date halves… to make life easier for you!

Where can I buy Madame Labriski date puree?

At IGA, Rachelle Béry, Marché Tradition and Bonichoix grocery stores across Quebec. My purees contain no preservatives and can be found in the fruit and vegetable section (yes, dates are fruit) near the pre-cut fruit and vegetables. If you can’t find them, simply ask a member of staff!

Why do Madame Labriski whole dates taste of caramel?

My whole dates that taste of caramel are my premium ones. I felt like offering reasonably priced dates with unique added value. Pop one in your mouth and take the time to savour its caramel taste. Isn’t what nature has to offer delicious? I’m really proud of them. They make for an amazing wholesome and energizing snack. Bon appétit! (By the way, you can also use them for cooking… they’re simply perfect).
