  • Put all the ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth and creamy.

History

I like gingerbread and I just love the imaginary world it evokes. You know, that story about the little gingerbread man who runs and runs as fast as he can so he doesn’t get gobbled up by the wolf? Hahaha! Hurtling around like often makes you thirsty. Hahaha! So, I thought of offering you a comforting “beverage” version of gingerbread. Funky Festive Milk is the perfect drink for the whole family. Whether you make it for your little elves when they come in from playing outside or to surprise your better half with a drop of their favourite spirits in it, this drink will make everyone feel pleasantly warm and cozy.

With NO ADDED SUGAR (yes, it’s sweetened with date puree), it has a beautiful creamy texture. Almost like a dessert? I’d say more like a festive snack that will spread holiday cheer. Served with a Madame Labriski muffin, (hahaha!) I hope it will bring some magic moments to your loved ones.

By the way, it’s just as amazing served hot or cold. Choose the one you prefer and bon appétit!

Ideally, it should be drunk immediately.
If you put it in the fridge, the ingredients will separate so you’ll need to stir or shake it vigorously.

Madame Labriski, which dates do you use to make your puree?

I’ve been asked that question so many times that I decided to offer the actual dates used to make my date puree sold in grocery stores. How cool is that? Plus, these ones are date halves… to make life easier for you!

Where can I buy Madame Labriski date puree?

At IGA, Rachelle Béry, Marché Tradition and Bonichoix grocery stores across Quebec. My purees contain no preservatives and can be found in the fruit and vegetable section (yes, dates are fruit) near the pre-cut fruit and vegetables. If you can’t find them, simply ask a member of staff!

Why do Madame Labriski whole dates taste of caramel?

My whole dates that taste of caramel are my premium ones. I felt like offering reasonably priced dates with unique added value. Pop one in your mouth and take the time to savour its caramel taste. Isn’t what nature has to offer delicious? I’m really proud of them. They make for an amazing wholesome and energizing snack. Bon appétit!
