History

With NO REFINED SUGAR and dairy-free if desired, these frozen treats are simply delicious, and you’ll even forget they’re healthy. My kids keep asking me for them time and time again, and I even let them have two of them in a row. Hahaha! Yet again, I wonder why we add so much sugar (including brown sugar and other supposedly organic and healthy sugars) to everything. It’s so simple to cook healthier food.

If you’re using a plant-based beverage (soy, almond, rice or oat), I encourage you to opt for the one that contains the most protein. As a general rule, it’s soy milk. Enjoy your frozen treats!

My son Adrien could spend his life eating popsicles. I therefore firmly intend to continue developing more and more recipes sweetened with date puree. Let’s hear it for these all-you-can-eat smoothie pops. Hahaha!

FAQ

Where can I buy Madame Labriski date puree?

At IGA, Rachelle Béry, Marché Tradition and Bonichoix grocery stores across Quebec. My purees contain no preservatives and can be found in the fruit and vegetable section (yes, dates are fruit) near the pre-cut fruit and vegetables. If you can’t find them, simply ask a member of staff!

The recipe calls for a plant-based beverage, can I use regular cow’s milk instead?

Yes, always.
