The Pretty Juicy Juice(Dried fruit bars)

A recipe for the perfect treat to pack in your lunchbox. These bars are not only SUGAR-FREE and FAT-FREE, they’re also GLUTEN-FREE, DAIRY-FREE, NUT- and PEANUT-FREE and CHOCOLATE-FREE, plus they take no time at all to make. Providing the ultimate energy boost, I love eating them just before a workout. And if you want an even healthier version, try them with dried fruit sweetened with fruit juice. Enjoy.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).

  2. In a bowl, combine all the ingredients and mix until combined.

  3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat—otherwise, everything will stick.

  4. Using a spoon, spread the mixture onto the baking sheet. Don’t be afraid to firmly press it down onto the baking sheet so the bars hold together.

  5. Bake for about 20 minutes. OMG! It smells so good!

  6. Let the bars cool before slicing. Enjoy this fruity delight!

  • 150 g (1⁄2 cup) Madame Labriski date puree

  • 1 egg

  • 1⁄2 teaspoon (2 ml) ground ginger

  • 65 g (1⁄2 cup) raisins

  • 65 g (1⁄2 cup) golden raisins

  • 65 g (1⁄2 cup) dried cranberries or 80 g (1⁄2 cup) dried cherries

  • 50 g (1⁄2 cup) large flake oats

  • 35 g (1⁄4 cup) regular or gluten-free all- purpose flour

  • 40 g (1⁄4 cup) black chia seeds
